Cross is getting settled into his new office when Burns' assistant tells him to get ready to leave for Brooklyn with Stacy Pollack. A new lead had developed regarding the Wolf. As they are walking toward the helicopter, a shot rings out and hits Pollack. Cross covers Pollack until help arrives. Remembering Sorokin's warning that the Wolf would catch up to him, Cross wonders if the shot was meant for him. Later that day in a meeting, Burns' gives the order to take the Wolf down "by any means," which is exactly what Cross wants.
