Part 4, Chapters 106, 107, 108, 109 Summary

Cross is reeling from Sorokin's revelation. The two men they took into custody claim to be part of the Red Mafia who are just stand-ins for more powerful people, including the Wolf. The FBI begins making deals with the CIA and the two men. The CIA confirms that Sorokin is not the man they allowed entry into the States years ago. Part of Sorokin's deal is that he will lead the FBI to Sphinx, another member of the Wolf's demented network. Sphinx turns out to be judge Brendan Connolly, Lizzie's husband, who had sold his own wife into captivity. Cross and Mahoney plan to arrest him outside of his home so as to not upset the family any further. As they followed him in his Porsche, he tries.....
