Part 3, Chapters 76, 77 Summary

Cross is the first to interview Potter in his nicely decorated home. As Alex looks around, he is impressed by how this sick man compartmentalized his life. No one would have ever expected this man to have a dark side. Cross asks him about Benjamin Coffey, but Potter is smug. Cross realizes it will take time to deal with this man.

Alex again asks Potter where Coffey could be found and Potter continues to deny that he knows Benjamin Coffey. Potter claims Francis was in the barn of his own free will. The smugness and arrogance continues until Cross is fed up, putting his boot to Potter's chest and knocking him to the floor. Potter cries for his lawyer for about an hour. After he stops, he is ready to make.....
