The next day, Cross is still reeling from Christine's visit. Sure that she had come back because she wanted to take Little Alex, he could think of no other reason for her to reappear. As he tries to concentrate once again on the White Girl case, he gets a call from Monnie who tells him that two more suspects have been arrested. Cross works at Quantico all day but never hears any news about the arrests. Still, he calls Judge Connolly to give him an update. Not until the end of the day does he realize that his class has graduated.

Lizzie Connolly tries to stay sane and begins to accept her captivity. In her mind, she finds some escape by imagining herself swimming the way she used to......
