Part 2, Chapters 49, 50, 51 Summary

Cross receives the news that Audrey Meek is found alive. When he arrives by helicopter at the scene, Cross is briefed by agents who have been on the ground. They tell him that Meek's captor had brought her to the location that morning, but she did not know the direction they had traveled or for how long. However, she is able to provide a detailed description of her captor and his vehicle.

Cross meets with Meek, who is very unlike her public persona. After introducing himself, Cross reluctantly begins to interview her. With all that she has been through, he knows talking about her ordeal is the last thing she wants to do. However, she is very cooperative and tells him that her captor took her for walks, cooked her.....
