Summary

Osh, Maggie, and Crow left Penikese with Mr. Sloan tucked into their skiff. When they arrived back at Cuttyhunk, Miss Maggie headed to the post office to send a telegraph to the police in Falmouth. They all knew that the news of Mr. Sloan's captive experience would spread through all the islands quickly. Inside Miss Maggie's home, they all ate soup and Crow asked Mr. Sloan if he knew why the man was digging holes on the island. Sloan did not even know that he had been digging since he only saw him when he brought food in the morning and changed the chamber pot.
