Summary

Beverly heads back to Seahorse Court and Iola is upset because she was waiting for Beverly to come home. Beverly tells Iola about her new friend Elmer while they eat tuna melts. After dinner, Beverly finally begins to write her letter to Raymie.

The next day at work, Freddie tells Beverly that she is good at waiting tables and could move up to server one day. She one again talks about her dream of becoming famous and how Beverly should aspire to more than to be a busser. After her shift, Mr. Denby pays Beverly for the day and she cashes out her tips. On her way out, Beverly runs into Jerome, who mentions seeing her with Elmer yesterday. He also says that Elmer helped him with algebra.
