People can do unwise things in the name of love. Their behavior can originate from the desire to keep the relationship alive because they cannot face life without it or because, at the time, the relationship fits one’s short term needs. In the former case, love can turn into obsession. The author uses the fictional characters of Andi and Clare to demonstrate how love can cause people to make unwise decisions.

The fictional character of Andi demonstrates the behavior of a person who becomes obsessed with a relationship and thus makes unwise decisions due to their desire to keep the relationship alive because they cannot face life without it.
