Summary

Chapter 12. Still Here. Ethan returns to the Mortal world and discovers that a significant amount of time has passed. He finds Lena with Macon, arguing over the significance of the button moving on Ethan’s grave. Macon is trying to protect Lena by refusing to allow her to get her hopes up. Ethan spends the night with Lena. The next morning, he has to do a few tricks to get Lena to look at the local paper, but when she does, she sees what he did to the crossword puzzle and immediately recognizes it as a message from him.
