Summary

Fifteen – Conversation between Sam and Naomi begins with them each checking to make sure the other is okay. Naomi reveals that she has been wondering whether Carissa actually gave Jimmie and Phaine the night-time tea as had been agreed. She then reveals that she has been dealing with visitors, and narration flashes back to their conversation. The man gave his name as Rockhold, and presented himself as an army friend of Jimmie’s. As they settled in, he noticed a crack in a coffee table, and Naomi became concerned, narration commenting on her thought that her father was not the sort of man to let something like that go unrepaired.
