Summary

Chapter 13 opens with Yancy in the morgue with Rosa. They have sex on one of the tables. Afterwards Rosa gives Yancy the last number O’Peele called before he died: Christopher Grunion. Yancy’s instincts tell him Christopher is Eve’s boyfriend. When Yancy returns home, he finds Bonnie making breakfast in his kitchen. She still has a key and let herself in. Cody is with Bonnie and she introduces him to Yancy. Bonnie explains that she left her husband Cliff because she could not take his autoerotic asphyxiation any longer. She plans to run off with Cody.

After they leave, Yancy goes to the mansion next door and paints occult symbols on the floor to make it look like a “Crude satanic pentagram” (177) to scare off potential buyers.
