Summary

While working in the clerical department of a secondhand bookstore on the Lower East Side, Joey found himself attracted to his coworker, Daisy, though he acknowledged that a relationship with her would ruin him. He spent the majority of his time at work staring at her and throwing things in her direction. He was reluctant to initiate something because he was in a relationship with his girlfriend, Diane, whom he had met at Bennington College. They had been together for eight years.
