Summary

Kyoshi awakens back at home, at the infirmary, with Jianzhu sitting by her side. Jianzhu tells Kyoshi that he always suspected she was hiding something from him, and notes that unlike most earthbenders, Kyoshi was first more comfortable bending larger pieces of earth instead of smaller rocks, which is the reverse of how earthbending is usually taught, though Kyoshi chose to eschew traditional earthbending lessons. Kyoshi tells Jianzhu that she really had had no idea that she was so powerful.

Jianzhu then tells Kyoshi about some of the political realities of the Earth Kingdom: instead of one unified continent, it is made of several different places and factions with their own cultures, traditions, and values.
