Summary

In “The Verdict,” Dr. Jansen announced that Julian would be expelled for two weeks. He also wanted Julian to write a letter of apology to Auggie. Melissa accused Mr. Tushman of taking his anger out on Julian. She argued it was just a “stupid note” (47) that Auggie did not even see. Mr. Tushman told Melissa that Julian was developing a pattern of behavior, including making faces behind Auggie’s back and initiating the game of plague, that was creating a hostile environment for Auggie.
