Chapters 12-15 Summary

In chapter 12, Miss Marple continues her vacation by visiting Battersea Park, a favorite spot from her childhood. While there, Miss Marple stops to have some tea and spots Malinowski with Elvira Blake. Again Miss Marple attempts to overhear their conversation, but they speak too low for her to hear. Miss Marple does notice, however, a racing car parked out front with the license tag, FAN2266. In chapter 13, Chief Inspector Davy learns of Canon Pennyfather's disappearance from Bertram's. Due to the apparent connection between Bertram's and the robberies, Father suggests he go with Inspector Campbell to interview the employees of Bertram's, pretending to be Campbell's subordinate. They interview Miss Gorringe first, but she has little new information for them except for the names of two guests who appeared to be friendly with Canon Pennyfather.
