Section 12: Chapter 15 Summary

Taking the bus to Burlington, Nadira finds Ma who was worried since Uncle and Auntie called her to tell her that Nadira had run away. As Ma and Nadira go to lunch, Nadira is shocked that Ma has made friends and no longer needs help speaking English or taking a bus. They go to the courthouse where the lawyer explains this is just a preliminary hearing, ignoring Nadira's attempts to tell him she has evidence for Abba. Nadira barely recognizes Abba when he joins them. After the judge explains that Abba is being held for suspicion of being affiliated with an illegal organization, Nadira asks to speak, passing out her paperwork. Nadira tells them they have the wrong person, explaining Abba spells his last name with an "a" while another guy in Florida who also gave money to the same fund...
