Section 8: Chapter 10 Summary

The next day, Nadira wakes as Immigration arrives to demand documentation from Uncle. Taslima refuses to hand anything over without a lawyer present, but one of the officers insists Uncle come to the station house, obviously aware that Uncle is illegal. Taslima wants to call Tim for advice, but Uncle refuses and goes to the police station. Tim joins the family at the station, but he does not do any good as he talks to the police. When Taslima's cell phone does not work, a female officer tells her they cannot use phones in the waiting area, so Aisha politely asks where they can make calls, and the woman suggests calling in the hallway. Aisha asks to speak to the supervisor so that they can understand the procedures, and when another woman comes out, she says Uncle being held like this...
