Chapters 10-12 Summary

Chapter 10. Kong the King. Kong is unhappy when Minerva's father announces that they will not be going after the demon and that he thinks it is time for Minerva to begin concentrating on more age appropriate pursuits. Kong wants a demon for his own purposes. Kong takes over the entire compound, knocking out both Soto and Minerva's father. When Artemis and Butler see this happening on the surveillance cameras that are wired into butler's laptop, Artemis calls Kong. Artemis arranges an exchange with Kong, the demon for Minerva.

Chapter 11. A Long Way Down. Kong chooses for the exchange the Taipei 101 building in Taiwan, one of the world's largest buildings. This building is so tall that the architects were concerned about the effect of the wind on it, so they built a large damper pendulum to absorb the force of the wind...
