Chapter 3 Summary

In chapter three, Chloe is at the door before she takes time to think through her plan. She knows she can't open the door and leave it open for fear of being detected in the doorway. She decides she'll open the door, step out, and take a look around. Chloe has trained under George Sebastian along with the others living in the bunker. She thinks about that training now and it worries her that she's making a mistake by going outside. She steps out and her eyes quickly adjust to the dim lighting outside. She sees the car, identifies it as a Global Community personnel carrier, but can't tell if there's anyone inside. As she makes her way to the car to check it out, she isn't certain whether she's being foolish or brave.
