Chapters 12 and 13 Summary

Chapter 12 -Expiration Date-

Alex, Tamara, and the Drevins leave for New York. Upon arriving at JFK International Airport, Alex is detained by immigration because his passport is expired. The officer tells Nikolei Drevin that he is really supposed to send him back to England immediately, but since they are only staying twenty-four hours, he will stretch the rules a little and allow Alex to stay at the airport until they are ready to leave. When they are ready, he can go with them back to England. Alex is taken by the immigration officer to Creative Ideas Animation, which he automatically recognizes as a front for the CIA. He also recognizes the man who greets him inside, Joe Byrne, the deputy director of operations in the Covert Action section.
