Because Barbara says people have to wear new clothes for Jewish holidays, Margaret wears a new suit. She is hot, and her father recalls being hot on the Jewish holidays when he was younger. At temple, the rabbi comes out while organ music plays. Margaret likes the music. Sylvia explains the hat on his head is a yarmulke. Margaret describes the service as them reading from a prayer book in English and Hebrew. Margaret is surprised her grandmother knows Hebrew. Margaret tries to listen to the sermon, but she loses interest and counts the hats. After the service, Margaret expects to have more emotion. They meet Rabbi Kellerman who wishes Margaret Good Yom Tov, which means Happy New Year.
