Chapter 3 Summary

The next day, while checking the mower bag, Margaret's father gets hurt. She prays to God to save her father because he is a good father. Her father gets eight stitches on his finger and tells Barbara to call Moose about cutting the grass. Margaret is up early and sees her parents are still asleep. Somebody is knocking at the front door. Margaret asks who it is. It is her grandmother. Margaret tells her grandmother she is surprised to see her and asks how she got there. Sylvia says she came in a taxi and by train. Margaret asks about trains being dirty.

Sylvia says she can clean herself. She asks to look at the house. Margaret shows her everything but the upstairs. Margaret hears the water running upstairs and tells Sylvia she will.....
