Summary

The narrative exposition then shifts back to the story of Apex bandages. Before they received their new name, the company decided to improve the quality of the product and to offer them in different colors so they could match the skin tones of all different racial ethnicities. The protagonist leaves his hotel room in search of the town library. When he finds it, he sees that it is closed. He enters anyway and finds Beverley, the librarian, packing up books.
