Summary

In Chapter 1, Rhiannon watches her boyfriend Justin pull into the school parking lot; he does not notice her. She recalls that they had a fight the previous night. Justin does not like when Rhiannon tries to plan ahead. Rhiannon follows Justin to his locker and they decide to get lunch together later. After their morning classes, Justin takes Rhiannon on a spontaneous trip, which Rhiannon thinks is unlike him. They cut the rest of their classes and go to the ocean. In the car, they listen to music that Rhiannon likes and Justin sings along with her, even though he usually would not. At the beach, Rhiannon and Justin make sand castles and Rhiannon cries because she is so happy. They kiss. Justin asks Rhiannon to tell him about other days she has had like this one. Rhiannon tells him about a mother-daughter...
