January Chapter Summary

Georgia makes resolutions to be a better person and to think about her nice teeth instead of her nose. Georgia finds out Jas has glandular fever, which comes from kissing. Georgia thinks kissing is too much trouble and hopes Jas is not contagious. Georgia finds Jas in bed. She asks Jas what is wrong, but Jas will not talk. Georgia asks if Jas is upset, because she does not have a boyfriend. Jas says nothing. Georgia is getting tired of this and thinks about her own problems. She has to look after Libby more since her mother is alone. Jas has never had a little sister whose swimming knickers exploded at the pool. Georgia remembers that Libby had eaten baked beans and that poop was everywhere including on the other children.
