October Chapter Summary

Georgia cannot believe she is knocking on Peter the kissing teacher's door. Her friends are hiding in the bushes. She does not know if she should wear lipstick since it could rub off. Peter opens the door, and Georgia describes him as an okay-looking blond who is about seventeen. Her hidden friends laugh, but Peter is unconcerned. She tells him her name and then wishes she had given a fake one. They go into his room. Georgia sees it is neater than hers. She compares his posters to her posters. She does not like that Peter sits on his bed. He asks her to sit which scares her, but she does so. He turns her face towards him and tells her to relax. At home, Georgia thinks she must be a woman now......
