Friendship blooms in this novel from the very first page. Faith is a lonely transplant from the south, unused to the snow blowing outside her door. When Faith sees a group of what appears to be teenagers having a snowball fight outside her house, she rushes out to yell at them, only to be invited to join in. The group of teenagers turns out to be a group of housewives blowing off steam. Faith joins in and discovers there is nothing more exhilarating than a spontaneous snowball fight. Afterward the ladies retire to Faith's living room where their conversation, a sort of getting-to-know-you dialogue, reveals the love of books each of these women share. At that moment the Angry Housewives Eating Bon Bons book club is born.
