Set and Jessie drive to the Native American camp where they are to watch traditional dances. Jessie introduces Set to members of their family, but there are too many names to remember. As they walk by innumerous tents and tipis, various kinds of food are offered and the air is heavy with the smells of cooking. Jessie explains the men are putting on their costumes for an ancient warrior society dance and that all had been members of the armed forces, and thus warriors. Jessie and Set come to the Mottledmare camp where Set sees Worcester Meat. Set determines that Worcester is an original person with an air of benign arrogance about him.
