Grey sits in her great-grandmother's room as her life ebbs away. Jessie, Kope'mah's granddaughter, feels a little jealous of Grey because Kope'mah opens her thoughts and heart to her great-granddaughter, even though Jessie has done all the work to take care of her grandmother. Grey becomes sleepy and nods off.

She awakens with a start and sees Henry McCarty, also known as Billy the Kid, sitting in a corner and looking like the famous photograph.
