Book 3, Chapter 17 Summary

Belknap and Jephson appeal the necessity of a special term of the Supreme Court since they need time to prepare, and they emphasize that Mason has called for the Court just to increase publicity and his political ambitions hoping that a quick trial would increase his popularity before elections.
