Book 2, Chapter 27 Summary

Clyde runs into Jill Trumbull while Christmas shopping, and she invites him to an outing at the Steele home. At that party, other people, knowing of Sondra's interest in Clyde, invite him to several more parties. The party before Christmas means that he'll have to cancel his plans with Roberta, the last evening they'll have together before she goes for a three-day trip to visit her parents. He thinks he'll make it up to her over New Year's, but Sondra invites him to go to Schenectady for a party, and he quickly accepts. The one complication is that Bella Griffiths will be there, so Clyde knows that the Griffiths family will know that he's being included in social events even though.....
