Summary

The police entered and said they were looking for a parachutist and would shoot him if they found him. Mutti said that this home was her sister’s and that she was here with her daughter and two sons. One of the soldiers found Marlene in the barn, and Mutti explained why she was there. The police took all of their names, and asked Peter why he was not in the army. Karli and Mutti said that he had asthma and was medically excused. As the soldiers left, Karli gave the heil Hitler salute.
