Summary

In Chapter 15, Joe visits Sarat at the Chestnut home and commends her vengeful murder of Bud Baker. Sarat laughs it off, clarifying that it was not “just one man who hurt me” (305). Joe discloses that he has access to a disease that is “capable of wiping out entire cities” (305), with will realize a mass revenge. He reveals his real name, Yousef Bin Rashid, and tells her that he works for the Bouazizi Empire, which conspires to devastate America in order to “be the most powerful empire in the world” (306). Sarat decides to orchestrate a devastating plague at the Reunification Ceremony, which would kill most of the Northern population.
