Summary

In Chapter 14, Fabiola and Kasim go on a date to see the famous Alvin Ailey dance company. Fabiola loves the performance, but she sees that the tickets were quite expensive. Kasim says that a man called “Q” paid for the tickets; he says that Q is very influential in their neighborhood and like a father to him. Kasim also mentions that Fabiola’s uncle “went down for Q” (145). However, when Fabiola then asks questions, Kasim says that it would be better for her to “stay out of it” (145).
