Summary

In this section Nina is still reeling over her newfound, very public life. Sam seeks her out at her dorm, and the two end up in a disagreement. From Nina's perspective, Sam is being very selfish as she only seems to want support given her heartbreak over Teddy. Nina resents Sam's lack of support given her own predicament and lashes out at Sam. Similarly, Sam is struck by the absence of pictures of the two of them in Nina's dorm room. Nina responds that it would complicate her life if people knew she was best friends with a royal. Both friends depart hurt by one another. Sam returns to the palace bereft, but is hard pressed to find consolation from either Jeff or Teddy. In fact, she has been tasked to pick out Beatrice's engagement ring with Teddy.
