Summary

Chapter 47

Meanwhile, Caleb, Mathew, and Tris are making their way to the weapons lab. Caleb is wearing the clean suit and a backpack full of explosives. They are worried because the lights are still on and Cara was supposed to have cut them by this time. They ask Matthew to shoot a gun in the air making a diversion so that they can get into the lab. it almost works until they get close to the lab. Some guards stop them. In this moment, Tris truly forgives her brother. Caleb is coming apart at the seams, shaking uncontrollably, while Tris is calm and level-headed, a product of her Dauntless training. She quickly tells him that there's no way that he would survive going into the lab or the death serum, and that she can't bear for him to die; that she loves him...
