Chapter 39

In Matthew's lab, Cara and he discuss the various manipulations that are possible, in theory, with the memory serum. It should be possible to hold back enough memory serum to have some to use on the Bureau's people, inoculate themselves and key personnel, who should remember everything, and still allow those who receive the serum to function to some degree of ability. Most notably, Tris states, they will be able to place people in charge who will do a decent job of things. Unfortunately, Tris points out, the passcode that would let them into the weapons lab, where the memory serum is kept, is still unreachable, and the only one who came even close to getting that code is Nita.
