Summary

Chapter 23

Tobias goes to meet Nita again. He mentions that the feel of his hair growing out and touching the top of his collar is a strange feeling, and that he misses the ritual of keeping his hair trimmed. Nita meets up with him and she takes him to a large room that has all of the project's 'subjects' tagged and listed in a pedigree type tree. They are all matrilenal, making Tris a second generation because her mother came from outside the city. Tobias thanks her for the tour, but moves to go back to the barracks when she stops him.
