Summary

Chapter 5

Tris meets with Tobias under cover of darkness in the park. He's brought along a backpack filled with picnic items. He tells her that they've never really had a date, like normal people do. Tris laughs, and later has the thought that chaos and destruction put a damper on one's love life and the dating potentials. They climb high onto a metal girder, spread out the picnic items and talk about the subjects that they've been avoiding. After they've reaffirmed their feelings for one another, Tris breaks the ice by jumping into the conversation that they need to have.

Chapter 6

Tobias overhears his mother talking about a demonstration that is being planned, and when Tobias walks through the cafeteria there is a 'feeling' in the air, as if something big is about to happen. At breakfast there is a commotion out front...
