Summary

In Chapter 27, Charlotte confronted Forrester, angry that he turned Bob over to police. He told her he had not revealed information from Jenny’s memory to the police. She said Bob asked her to meet him at his house, but he did not touch her initially. He was worried that Parsons went to him about the old college charge. Bob was worried that old record might resurface since he was running for office. The sexual nature of the old charge meant Parsons had to ask him for an alibi for the night Jenny was raped. He called his wife and she reminded him that they were at a wine-tasting dinner at the country club. Forrester had not considered that Bob would have an alibi. But Charlotte said a friend of hers had been gossiping after the event about how Bob never showed up...
