Summary

Charlotte:

In 2003, Andrea moves into a small apartment with a tiny view of the Empire State Building. Running low on money, her mother sends some furniture through her friend Alonzo, an activist friend of her mothers. Three years pass, and within that time, she receives a promotion and is able to buy new furniture and pay off the grad school debts she still had for the degree she never completed. After a night of doing drugs, Andrea returns to the apartment and realizes one of the chairs her mother gave her is the one her father died in. She calls her brother and he advises her to throw it out. Andrea tries to sell it online, but is angered at the different people who come to see the chair, including Aaron, an aspiring folk singer, with whom she ends up making out...
