Chapters 20 - 21 & Epilogue Summary

The weather is pretty the morning of the Fete, but it is obvious that a big storm is rolling in. Flick and Phyllida simply mingle at the picnic, Lucifer and Demon keep an eye on the two and Appleby, and Jonas keeps an eye out for unusual behavior in the other men. During this time, Hemmings, Covey, Demon's groom, and Dodswell kept watch on the house, waiting for the killer.

While they are waiting, Oscar tells Lucifer and Demon about a passenger who wants across the channel, and it has to be tonight. Due to the weather, there will be no ships out, but he wants to know from Lucifer what he should do. Lucifer tells him that they should wait and see what happens.

About then, Thompson rides up.....
