Summary

In Chapter 10, Izzy is scheduled to be admitted to a psychiatric ward called Liberty House. Her admittance date is only a few days away. However, Antonia feels a sense of worry and unease. She fears that Izzy has decided on a secret plan of some kind. Antonia decides to take a walk by herself to try to calm down, but she receives a text message from Beth, who says that Estela has gone into labor. Antonia tells her sisters about the situation, and Izzy persuades her to return home to help Estela. Antonia is somewhat glad for the excuse to leave. As Antonia drives home, she continues to feel much ambivalence about what direction she wants the rest of her life to take. The next day, Antonia receives a call from Mona and from a hospital doctor.
