Chapter 13. Camille. Camille receives another mystery postcard and it causes her to think more about her relationship with the unnamed boy in Chicago. The baseball player stops responding to Camille's emails. Then she goes out with her mother and Ellen and feels a little left out when her mother hits it off better with Ellen than her. That Saturday, Alec is not at the Lake House, leaving Camille feeling even more betrayed. Camille finds solace both in the coffeehouse and her job at the animal shelter, where she witnesses a dog's adoption.

Chapter 14. Becca. Becca continues to grieve her relationship with Alec. Becca receives a text message from Alec, but erases it.
