Calvin Trillin

Calvin Trillin was married to Alice. Trillin, a writer, was married to Alice for almost forty years when she passed away. Trillin would often write about Alice in his books and articles, sharing with the world a small piece of the woman he loved and admired. Alice was often his first editor, reading his work before anyone else had the chance. One writer advised Trillin that this was a fast road to divorce, but Trillin saw his work as a way to impress Alice and was pleased when he wrote something she found acceptable. When he did not meet Alice's expectations, however, Trillin never felt criticized. Trillin wanted Alice's imput because it was the best way to improve his writing and continue to impress Alice.
