Chapters 16 Summary

When Tindall marches them into the Colonel's office, Tindall tells the Colonel that they are impostors. Sam admits their true identities and asks permission to remove the illusions. When Sam drops the magic, the Colonel in fact sees that it is Prince Sameth. He also says Lirael looks like Sirael. Sam insists he needs to get to a phone.

Lirael and Sam tell the Major about the hemispheres, Hedge and the lightning farm. The Major says he received word of some problems in the west and now he knows it's Hedge and the Dead that are responsible, from what they are telling him. He orders Tindall to take Sam to a phone.
