Point of View

The point of view of the novel is third person. This point of view is omniscient and reliable, proven by the fact that the narrator not only knows the actions of the events she reports upon, she also can tell the reader the emotions each of the characters feels. This point of view is important to the novel since one of the most important themes in the novel is the emotional growth of the main character. There could not be the dramatic impact of this growth if not for the reader's peek into the thoughts and emotions of this character.

The story is told mostly through exposition with small patches of dialogue scattered throughout the descriptive passages.
