Duny, Sparrowhawk, Ged

Duny is the main character of the novel, the character that the plot follows from childhood to adulthood. Duny is the name his mother gives him at birth and the name he goes by until his thirteenth birthday. Duny is the child of the town bronzesmith, an older man with older children who does not have the time or the patience to raise another child. Duny, therefore, is care for by his aunt after his mother's death. This aunt is a witch and when she discovers that Duny has certain skills for sorcery, she begins to teach him the spells she knows. These teachings lead Duny to save the entire village which he leaves after it is invaded by a neighboring tribe.

When a local wizard hears of what Duny has done, he comes.....
