Chapter 10, The Open Sea Summary

Ged and Vetch venture out to sea, going south now. They stop at several islands to collect water and food since Ged is reluctant to use his magic to change salt water to fresh. Ged does not want to use magic for anything they do not need to. Ged does not speak of the shadow during the first few weeks of the voyage, but he does ask about Yarrow quite often. Several times when they stop at an island for supplies, they will hear of other sightings of the man who looks like Ged. This tells Ged they are traveling in the right direction, which he has felt due to his connection with the shadow. Ged and Vetch finally reach the last string of islands on the charted waters.
