Chapter 8, Hunting Summary

Ged goes down to the shore on Gont Island and buys a small boat from a local man. The boat is small and not in very good shape. Ged uses the skills Pechvarry taught him to repair the boat as best he can with wood and he uses spells to do the rest of the repairs. Ged then sets off in the direction he took from Osskil, hoping to run into the shadow on its way to find him. Ged sails for a long time before he finds the shadow. Ged begins to chase the shadow and finds that the shadow does not like being chased. They follow each other over the ocean for a long time before a fog rolls in. Then the shadow tricks Ged into running into some rocks......
